Ballyliffin Golf Club

Number two on our local attractions list and visible from the cottage and a short drive down the road is Ballyliffin Golf Course, founded in 1947. Wildly regarded as the finest links complex in Ireland boasting two championship links courses - The old Links and the Glashedy Links, host of the 2018 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. Both links are surrounded by panoramic views of the Wild Atlantic Way. The old links designed by Nick Faldo undulates in the glory of its natural terrain, presenting an immensely enjoyable challenge for every golfer. The Glashedy Links designed by renowned Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock is carved right from the incredible dunes, and is rated among the best links tracks in the world. The coarse record of 65 was recorded during the Dubai duty free 2018 Irish Open by Eric van Rooyen, Andy Sullivan and Jorge Campillo. Both courses are a must play on any golf trip to Ireland and we are lucky to have them on our doorstep. For more info see Ballyliffin Golf Club
